Who and What Influences You the Most?

In Mark 8:15 Jesus warns his disciples of the yeast of the Pharisees and Herod. In the New Testament yeast is a metaphor for influence. So Jesus was in essence saying don't be influenced by the lack of faith and wickedness of the Pharisees. We should heed that warning also. Who and what influences you the most? Media, peers, the world? Only one thing or person should influence us and thats Jesus.  Read and meditate on Joshua 24:14-15 today.

When do you worship?

When do you worship? You're probably saying, Sunday of course! John 9 captures the story of Jesus healing the man who was born blind. At the end of the day when the man who had been healed met Jesus again, Jesus told him he was the messiah. In verse 38 the man said, "I believe , Lord... and he worshiped him (Jesus)." Shouldn't every moment we think about Jesus be a moment we could worship? Worship doesn't have to occur in a church building. Worship is simply giving value and worth to something or someone. Let me challenge you today, every time you think about Jesus, or every time you act on your belief in Jesus, stop and worship him. It could be a simple thank you or a an acknowledgment that Jesus is with you or a quick testimony of his grace.

Praying for you today.  Bro Kevin.
