Every day, our kids are bombarded with questions: Did God really create everything? Why do bad things happen? Was Noah’s ark real? Why do I need to be saved? Can I trust the Bible?
At this VBS, your kids will explore the biblical answers to these questions as they set off on an epic adventure from Genesis to Revelation. Amid sloths, butterflies, river dolphins, and dart frogs, your children will sail along on a fun jungle cruise, stopping at seven ports of call.
These ports are the 7 C’s of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. Kids will discover how these events shape our world, and they will learn to reconnect the Bible to their everyday life.
Prepare to swing into fun as we head out on The Great Jungle Journey!

The banquet allows the fathers to set the standard for how they want their daughters treated by a ‘would-be future husband’”.
The theme for this year’s event is “Beauties and Boots.” This years’ western theme will give the girls and dads a chance to be creative as they dress up as a couple.

Sanctity of Human Life Day
On January 22, 1984, President Ronald Reagan issued a presidential proclamation designating the third Sunday of January as National Sanctity of Human Life Day.
Pastors, churches and life organizations across the United States use this day to bring awareness to the attacks that are daily waged against human life through the abortion industry.
One of the best ways we can protect unborn lives is by bringing into the light the darkness of abortion, and supporting local Pregnancy Help Organizations who daily reach women and families with messages of hope and life.
The Lord called me from the womb, from the body of my mother he named my name.

Grief Share
Grief Share Provides Help and Encouragement for People Who Are Grieving
Of all the difficult things life throws at people, the death of a loved one is one of the hardest. Whether it’s a spouse, child, sibling, parent, or friend, learning to carry on without them can feel like too much to ask. For the last two years Martha Road Baptist Church has offered help for those who are hurting because of the loss of loved ones. The Grief Share program is biblically based and is offered exclusively through churches. The program is non-denominational and open to people of all faiths or no faith at all.
Grief Share is a 13-week program designed specifically for people who have lost a loved one through death. It consists of instructional videos, a workbook with readings and exercises, and group sessions. Grief Share is facilitated and led by people who understand because they have also grieved the death of a loved one. The $30 workbook is the only expense and participants are encouraged to participate as much as they would like at no additional cost.
The Martha Road Baptist Church Grief Share program will meet on Wednesday evenings at 6 PM beginning January 10th, 2024, in Room 117 at Martha Road Baptist Church. To register text the word “GRIEF” to 580-482-3377 or call 580-482-3377 Ext. 104.

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering
The Lottie Moon Christmas Offering is an annual offering collected by believers around the world to support international missions. The offering was officially named in 1918 by Woman’s Missionary Union in honor of the missionary to China who urged churches to start it and give sacrificially.
This offering is unique from other mission offerings in that 100% of gifts provide for missionaries all over the world. It is a valuable part of Southern Baptists’ 175-year history of reaching the nations with the gospel and vital to reaching the vision of a multitude from every language, people, tribe and nation knowing and worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ (Revelation 7:9).
Surely there can be no greater joy than that of saving souls. – Lottie Moon

"Go On Mission" with Martha Road
Go On Mission is a weekly activity conducted on Sundays where we, the congregation, come together to pray for lost family and friends.
During this activity, people write the initials of a person they want to pray for on a ping pong ball and put it in a glass bowl. They then pick a different ping pong ball from the bowl and commit to pray for that person daily.
This is a beautiful way to show support for one another and to come together in prayer.
…pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working” -James 5:16 (ESV)
